Is it just me, or does this look like a lot of work for the results you get?? After watching both videos on the site I'm left wondering if it's all worth it....

This is a ludicrous approach - using PHPMyAdmin to put articles into your blog for example!

The whole process is so long and convoluted it would be quicker - and better - to do it manually.

The tool puts articles into mysql database directly,not using PHPMyAdmin.
Watch the video carefully.Just use PHPMyAdmin to see the result when articles inserted.

The Auther put the HOst name as 127.0.0.1 (means local host) (He is doing in Local Machine).

The software works - I have tried it.

One issue you may have is your server set up. You need to ensure that you have mysql listening on port 3306 (or change the software set up to the right port) and you need mysql set up to accept external remote connections.

If any of that is techno speak you need to speak to your hosting provider.

Yes it is - and it then directly connects to your web server database.

Tried to, but it was confusing to say the least - perhaps a bit less of the Jerry Bruckheimer soundtrack and someone actually talking would have helped, or failing that a usable pdf.

If I got it wrong then my fail, but some effort put into usable tutorial material would certainly help them selling this thing (and the formatting of the output is lousy).

You should enable your mysql remote connect.
You can use the wildcard characters "%" and "_" in hostname value.
